Several Heaton Harriers have various experiences with the ultra marathon distance but none probably more so than Caroline Billis. This weekend Caroline has been competing at the UTMB (Ultra Trail Mt Blanc) in France. A race with with over 10,000 metres elevation over 106 miles. To put that into context Mt Everest is 8,850 metres.
The UT race series is well known for its strict cutoff times (32% of the 2600+ runners DNF this year) so massive kudos to Caroline for completing the whole distance. Finishing this race is an amazing feat in itself but this is now the second time Caroline has completed the UTMB so huge congratulations on your achievement from Heaton Harriers.
