About The Session

Run 2 laps of a 2 mile course just below your threshold pace for 5k, so you can still communicate a few words but not have a full conversation (3 mins recovery between efforts ). We will try and run this in the usual groups.

The start is on Armstrong Bridge. Run through the gates into Jesmond Dene making your way down the bank taking the first left and onto the wooden boards to go further down towards the main path in Jesmond Dene (Red Walk) Running past the cafe and Pets Corner continue along Red Walk crossing the first bridge over the Ouseburn. Continue on the path around the picnic fields and the shelters and then up onto Jesmond Dene Road turning left back to Armstrong Bridge. See the above map for the route.

If on the second lap you want to have a shorter rep take the Anita Nott steps at the picnic fields (marked on the map above) and run the Anita Nott top section of Jesmond Dene back to Armstrong Bridge. This is about 1.6 miles instead of 2 miles for the second lap. There is also a shorter lap of approx 1 mile for the second lap if you turn at the Fishermans lodge entrance and run back up the hill then through the tunnel back to Armstrong bridge.
