We train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings local to Cochrane Park. Sessions start at 7 pm. Please consult the schedule for exact timings and locations as these may vary depending on the session.

Everyone does the same session regardless of ability. Our training sessions are created by our session leaders with a clear training goal in mind. For example, during summer months we will train specifically for the Blaydon Race and then the Great North Run whilst in the autumn months the training plan will be decided with Cross Country season in mind. Training sessions could be anything from short reps (400m, 800m, 1k, 1 mile) to hill sessions to tempo runs.

We usually split off into smaller groups based on estimated 5k or 10k times so train in a group of similar ability. The table below is a handy guide to see what group you should join at the training session. If you are unsure please speak to the session leader or club captains. There will be someone who is leading the session and groups so please make yourself known if you are new to the club or unsure which group you should train with.
