Autumn Training 2022

We hope everyone had a great Great North Run and enjoyed the race whether you were running for a specific time, to raise money for a charity or to simply enjoy the day.

We now have an easy (ish) week or two before the start of the cross country season which is the focus of the sessions leading up to the winter months. The Cross Country races are great club events and good for building fitness before the start of any marathon or distance training in the new year.

We have the last session in the parks this Thursday which is the dukes pond paarluf and then return to more of the club’s road routes which you will hopefully enjoy if you are a fan of Balliol and West Street! Please be mindful of the nights drawing in, wear high viz and consider a head torch or reflective clothing especially if running to and from the club when you are less likely to be in a large group.

Sessions will now include more vo2 max sessions, reps and short hills. This is to complement the cross-country season and help build strength and increase speed over the early winter before many club members will be looking to commence training for longer races in the new year.

Happy running,

Sam and Caroline
