Yesterday saw Heaton Harriers pick up multiple prizes at the unofficial warm-up to the Great North Run. The Tynedale Jelly Tea is a 10-mile out and back road race with lots of local running clubs taking advantage of the racing conditions and distance 3 weeks before the GNR. And yes you get Jelly and Tea at the end, along with a sandwich.
David Daniel Young continued to improve by claiming 3rd place overall in a fantastic time of 55:37 whilst beating some top runners in the process. Well done David!
Danni Smythe picked up another win to add to her trophy cabinet. Danni matched her 2019 performance and claimed 1st female again to retain her title in a time of 64:08.
With Danni being 1st female, Heaton Harriers picked up 2nd female team with Rachel Barnes finishing 7th female overall (3rd in the senior age category) and Vice Club Ladies Captain Laura Percy coming home as 17th female to cross the line. Well done ladies, top running.
Other notable Heaton winners on the day include:

Vicki Addison 3rd in the V55 Female Age Category in 83:54
