Manchester Marathon 2023

It’s April which means it’s the start of marathon season and the accumulations of everyone’s winter training coming to fruition. Well done to the 11 Heaton Harriers that completed the Manchester Marathon yesterday.

There were at least 4 marathon personal bests that we know of. A special mention to first Heaton Harrier home in the Manchester marathon Matt Steanson, with a new PB of 2:56:08 absolutely smashing his previous PB of 3:25:54. Another shout out to Marshall Leitch, after running the London Marathon in October in a time of 4:35:20 he ran a new marathon PB at Manchester of 3:38:02. Please remember to submit your race PBs to the new PB honours board on the website so we can keep track of all our members’ new PBs after an event.

Well done to everyone who ran and completed the event. Heaton Harrier results are below. We’re now in London Marathon week with no fewer than 12 harriers running it this year. A full list of names and bib numbers will be published later in the week so you can track everyone on the app. The TV coverage starts at 8:30am BBC1 on Sunday morning so watch out for the white and green vests of Heaton.
