Brass Monkey 2023

23 Heaton Harriers made the trip south to York on Sunday to compete in the annual Brass Monkey Half Marathon hosted by York Knavesmire Harriers. A very popular event with only 1700 places available attracting runners from all over the north of England.

In what was near-perfect running conditions under blue skies and very little wind there were lots of personal success with at least 11 half marathon PBs from our members.

Eddie Knight was first Heaton home in 59th place overall in 1:14:19. First female home for Heaton and 33rd female overall was Ellie Reed in 1:26:51. Heaton just missed out on age category prizes with John James finishing 4th in V65-69 and Elaine Waters finishing 4th in the V60-64 age category but overall it was great running by everyone on the day.
