Congratulations to Allen Mullis who tomorrow will pass the 600 Parkrun milestone at Town Moor Parkrun.
Many of our members will know Allen as our club membership secretary but Allen is also a member of a very elite dedicated group of parkrunners – Allen is the 58th all-time Parkrun attendee in the UK and and 63rd worldwide. To put that into perspective there are over 5 million registered Parkrunners so Allen is in the top 0.001% of Parkrun attendees.
Allen started his parkrun journey at Albert Parkrun, Middlesbrough in January 2009 when there were just 10 parkrun events worldwide and none in the Newcastle area. His Parkrun adventure has seen him attend the inaugural events for such Parkrun favourites like Town Moor, Gateshead, Whitley Bay, South Shields, Riverside and many more in the North- East that we all attend week in, week out. In fact, Allen has attended every North East Parkrun at least once which is a feat in itself. In and among Allens 600 Parkruns he has also volunteered an impressive 166 times.
Tomorrow Allen will have ran 3000km at Parkrun – that is the distance from Newcastle to the Canary Islands.
Everyone at the club wishes you well and that your parkrun journey continues. Well done on your dedication.
