On Sunday, Heaton Harriers had 9 complete teams participating in the Norman Woodcock Relays hosted by Elswick Harriers at Gosforth Racecourse.
The teams were made up of 3 people with the rules stating that at least one member of the team must be female, running a 1.6-mile leg around the tarmac path that follows the racecourse.
We had some excellent individual performances on the day, and we had four teams finishing in the top 30 (out of 102 teams). The highest place Heaton team came 5th overall which is an outstanding result as there were some very strong teams entered by other clubs. The team was made up of Louis Head, Jo Woodcock and Calum Mills.
The fastest Heaton female runner of the day was Jo Woodcock running her leg in 9.36 and was 3rd fastest female overall on the day. Louis Head was the fastest Heaton runner of the day running his leg in 8.20 and was 11th fastest overall.
Well done to the 27 members who represented the club today. We had some excellent performances which shows that all the hard work in training is paying off.
