A total of 30 Heaton Harriers took advantage of the fast flat Quayside course with fantastic running conditions last night including 2 young harriers in the junior 3k race. There were a whole host of personal bests last night so if you achieved one well done.
Fred Davies broke the long-standing club 5k record last night at the Gateshead Quayside 5k. The new record now stands at an incredible 15:08. Well done Fred from everyone at Heaton Harriers. Fred broke James Meader’s 5k record of 15:48 which was made at the same race in 2019. Louis Head recently shared this record which equaled James’ record at the Sunderland 5k in July 2023.
In and amongst Fred’s achievement last night we also had the following successes:
- Ellie Reed 1st in her age category in the A race, V35.
- Jonathan Dale was 2nd in his age category in the B race, U20
- Ellen Cole was 3rd in her age category in the B race, V35
- Pauline Chaplin was 3rd in her age category in the B race, V70
