About The Session

Similar to the Killingworth Pursuit session and Newton Park Pursuit session, form groups of 6-10 based on ability and run the 5k Anita Nott course taking turns on group lead. The back runner should run hard to pass the other group members to the front and ease off when they get to the front. Repeat this effort in sequence for the full duration of the session. The course can also be used as a time trial or a 1 minute hard 1 minute easy session depending on group sizes.

The Route
Starting on Armstrong Bridge at the 3rd set of lampposts on the Jesmond side we will set off across Armstrong Bridge and into Jesmond Dene through the gates on the left and down the hill. Keep right on the path heading towards the small tunnel. Go through the tunnel and past the Jesmond Dene parkrun start/finish line. Continue on the path taking the left forks down to the red path in the dene. You should be joining the red path at the old Fishermans Lodge. Continue on the red path keeping the Ouseburn to your left. Cross the first bridge over the Ouseburn and run along to the Picnic Fields. Before the path turns left and towards the shelters there is a small footbridge over the Ouseburn on the right with several steps. Cross the bridge to the other side of the Ouseburn and turn right heading back in the direction you came. Continue on this path keeping left which will take you up to the highest path on this side of the dene. It will eventually go back towards the Jesmond Dene parkrun start/finish line and through the tunnel. Continue back towards Armstrong bridge and turn left at the dene gates. Take a right at the bridge over the Coast Road and into Armstrong Park. Continue on the main path through Armstrong Park until you reach the road between the two parks and run into Heaton Park. Continue through Heaton Park keeping the bowling green on your right and taking the red path up towards Heaton Park Road and the entrance gates. At the gates turn around and run back the route you have just come through Heaton Park and Armstrong Park. After the bridge over the Coast Road turn left and finish on Armstrong Bridge at the 2nd set of lamposts on the Heaton side.

This is the route of the ladies only Anita Nott race which will happen on Monday 27th June this year.
