Organised by NEMAA (North East Masters Athletics Association) this is a summer track and field series of events at Monkton Stadium, Jarrow (NE32 5NJ), on a Monday evening. If you are over 35 years old and a member of Heaton Harriers you are eligible to participate. The only requirement is that you also need to register as a member with NEMAA directly. At each fixture you are permitted to participate in 3 events whilst also watching all the events and cheer on other Heaton Harriers. For each event you will compete directly against others with similar ability but your results will be based on the same 5 year age category that you are in. Whilst you will compete individually there is also a team element to the fixtures with a minimum of at least 4 men and 3 women required to make up a team.
Typically there are over 100 athletes present competing and supporting each other in a friendly supportive atmosphere on a summers evening. This event gives you the opportunity to try new events from throwing, to jumping and short speed distances.
