Over the last couple of months we have been trialing session leaders to help run our training sessions and pace the groups. Members have given us great feedback on this so to expand we require more volunteers to help lead our various training groups.
With session leaders in place we can ensure we have the training groups running at the correct pace so that everyone gets the maximum training benefit and hopefully achieve their race targets and other goals. With groups running at the correct pace we could have more varied training sessions specific to the pace of each group.
If you volunteer there is no obligation to drop down a group to pace another, commit to run in a certain group or even to commit to volunteer every week. The intention is you would choose to pace a group that you would intend to run with for that session. See the About Club Session page to see what the intended pace is for each group. You don’t have to be a human metronome running each interval to the second. You just require an understanding of what the target pace is for the session and be familiar with the route.
Volunteering will purely be on an opt in basis from session to session but it would be great to have more members to help on a regular basis, particularly in groups 4 and 5 as well as the new 7 and 8 groups.
If you are interested in volunteering please message Sam or Caroline on Facebook Messenger or speak to one of us at a club session.
Thank you – Caroline
