Saturday morning saw Heaton Harriers take over the volunteering roles at Town Moor Parkrun en masse. In total 44 Heaton Harriers volunteered covering all roles from the first-timers briefing to the all-important barcode scanners whilst also managing to get 27 runners/walkers out, including a full pacing roster, and a first female finisher from Jo Woodcock.
The weather behaved itself after the initial forecast of a washout so spirits were high the day before the Brass Monkey Half Marathon and Birtley Cross Country Relays.
Huge thanks to everyone that gave up their Saturday morning to give something back to Parkrun and the running community. The club are very happy with the response from our members so watch out for another Parkrun takeover coming soon.
