Well done to the 24 Heaton Harriers that completed the 2023 inter-club cross-country championships on Saturday at the Rising Sun Country Park.
It turned out to be quite a nice spring afternoon in the sunshine. The snow melted which made the course the muddiest cross country this season so far. We can all go into spring training with memories of at least having one muddy cross country this year.
The overall winners were David Young (33:53) for the men, Ellie Reed (25:15) for the women and Jake Smith (12:01) for the juniors. Prizes will be handed out at the Ringtons Cup on 13th April.
Huge thanks to Bill Brown for organising the event with the Rising Sun and to George for setting up the course. Big thanks also to the volunteers we had out on the course marshaling the event.
