There was a huge turnout from Heaton Harriers at the annual Clive Cookson 10K organised by our neighbours North Shields Poly. 34 Harriers raced against the best of Tynesides running community to pick up valuable club summer grand prix points in the process.
The first home for the club in 5th place overall was Louis Head in 34:11. Well done Louis, great running, First female home for Heaton was Ellen Tullo, fresh from her recent duathlon success at the weekend in 42:35.
Heaton also had some top 3’s in the age category prizes. Stephen Mackenzie was 3rd in the MV55 category in 40:00. Janette Kilgour was 1st in the FV70 category in 1:17:05 and George Routledge was 1st in the MV75 age category in 1:19:18.
Well done to everyone who took part. I heard some really nice comments about the race and it’s organisation so thanks must go to North Shields Poly again for a fantastic evening of racing, even though Rake Lane seems to get steeper every year.
