About The Session
Pick a partner of equal ability. Runner A runs a lap of Gosforth Park fast (see above map) while runner B rests.
When runner A finishes one lap, runner B runs one lap of Gosforth Park fast whilst runner A rests.
This continues for 25 minutes.
The resting partner may run a short recovery lap whilst their partner does their effort.
This is a vo2 max session so try and reach vo2 max as quickly as possible. To enable you to get a good training effect from it spend between 8 and 12 minutes of the session at vo2 max.
The distance is about 550 meters per effort. All groups should get at least 6 efforts in.
Please watch out for members of the public, we do no have right of way. A head torch is advisable for this session during autumn and winter months as it can sometimes be quite dark around the tennis courts of Gosforth Park.
