Huge well done to Ellie Reed on finishing 2nd female overall at the Gateshead Trail 10k on Saturday.
For those who are unfamiliar with the Gateshead Trail 10k it is an undulating, challenging but enjoyable 10k ran every year in and around Derwent Walk Country Park. They also do some of the best medals and T-Shirts.
Ellie ran a superb race in a strong field over 576 women finishing in a time of 40:14.
Ellie has not been a member of Heaton Harriers for long but she is the current female athlete of the year and performances like this certainly helps her cement that title even further.
A special mention should also go to David Daniel Young who finished 12th overall in a field of 1240. Well done David, superb running!
Honourable mentions on the day also go to Vicki Addison (V50) and Pauline Chapman (V60) who came 9th in their respective age categories. Top running ladies.
